Protection While Your Future Takes Shape
Deferred action is a form of temporary protection that allows certain people to remain in the United States and apply for work authorization while their situation is reviewed. It is not a permanent solution, but for many people it provides the time, stability, and legal ability to work that makes everything else possible.
“For many people who grew up here, DACA is not just a policy. It is the foundation that allows them to show up fully for the lives they have built in this country.”
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
For individuals who came to the U.S. as children. We help with initial applications and renewals, so protection continues without interruption.
Humanitarian Deferred Action
For people facing medical emergencies or urgent personal circumstances that require temporary protection to remain in the U.S.
Labor-Based Deferred Action
For workers involved in investigations of unsafe conditions or workplace violations who need protection while cooperating with authorities.
Important Update on DACA: At this time, USCIS is not approving new DACA applications. However, if you already have DACA, renewals are still being processed. If your DACA is expiring, it is important to file your renewal as early as possible. We continue to monitor any changes to this policy and will keep our clients informed as the situation develops.
Take the first step with a case review from an immigration attorney.
Do Any of These Sound Familiar?
"I have DACA and my renewal is coming up. I do not want to miss the window and risk losing my ability to work."
You may be wondering →
How early should I renew my DACA and what happens if it lapses?
We recommend beginning the renewal process at least six months before your current DACA expires. If your DACA lapses, you lose your work authorization, which can affect your job, your income, and your daily stability. We confirm renewal timelines, prepare everything correctly, and make sure your application is filed on time so there is no gap in your protection.
"I came to the U.S. as a child, and I have never applied for DACA. I did not realize I might qualify."
You may be wondering →
How do I know if I am eligible for DACA and what does the process involve?
"I am receiving medical treatment that is only available in the U.S. and I am afraid of what will happen to my care if I have to leave."
You may be wondering →
Is there a way to stay in the U.S. temporarily for ongoing medical treatment?
"I reported unsafe working conditions or wage theft at my job. I am worried about what will happen to my immigration status while the investigation is ongoing."
You may be wondering →
Can I be protected from immigration enforcement while cooperating with a workplace investigation?
"I have DACA now but I want to understand if there are other options available to me for more permanent protection in the future."
You may be wondering →
Can DACA lead to something more permanent down the road?

I have known Rebecca professionally for a number of years now. I have had the pleasure of meeting her in person a time or two, but I know her best from our mutual participation in some online forums of immigration lawyers where we can ask each other questions. You can tell a lot about a professional by the types of questions they ask - how well they have researched ahead of time, how nuanced the questions are, and even how they respond to others' questions. I have seen Rebecca ask excellent, well thought out and well-researched (by her, ahead of time) questions over the years, showing me that she's a brilliant lawyer who wants the very best for her clients. I have also witnessed her responses to others' questions over the years. Not only are her responses helpful and importantly, accurate (not every lawyer's answers are right!), but her authentic compassion always shines through. I am choosy in who I refer others to, and I never hesitate to refer to her. I'm grateful to call her a valued colleague.Posted on Google Victoria GentryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
