Meet Our Team

Gaby Rivas is from Guatemala, a country that deeply shapes her values, her work, and her perspective on community and belonging. She began her professional path as a schoolteacher and later earned degrees in Occupational Therapy and Psychology, followed by a master’s degree in Social Analysis of Disability. A Waldorf teacher at heart, Gaby spent five years studying and working in a Waldorf school as part of her international certification and is currently researching the relationship between Waldorf Education and disability. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to empathy, inclusion, and human-centered work.

From a young age, Gaby has been involved in volunteer work, supporting communities of all ages. Volunteering and traveling exposed her to cultural diversity and inspired her interest in immigration, particularly in response to the challenges many Guatemalans face abroad. Coming from a family rooted in small towns in Guatemala, she has seen these realities firsthand. Working at RKL has shown her the power of helping others while pursuing her own goals and supporting her family- a role that is especially meaningful to her as a mother.

Outside of work, Gaby has built a loving home with her partner and their little boy, which they share with two cats and a turtle. She enjoys traveling, discovering hidden towns, exploring new cultures, and connecting with nature and animals. An art lover who appreciates life’s small joys, she loves collecting little treasures from her adventures and cherishes spending quality time with family and friends.
